The author firstly provides a comprehensive summary of the 6th IPCC report, focusing on Working Group II, as she emphasises that the risks associated with global warming are not a question of the future, but that we are instead already experiencing them in the present. The author then examines how water-related changes are already visible in different sectors, highlighting that severe negative impacts are observed in different parts of the world and in different sectors. She also examines the policy challenges of tackling water scarcity in the coming decades. Additionally, she elaborates on the advantages and limitations of water-related adaptation.
